hello all you mucocele sufferers!
As you are all aware at first this thing in your mouth scares the living day light out of you coz you think its mouth cancer, or a STD....but soon relieved to find out its a mucocele and they're all so common.
I have a tendancy to bite my lip and triggered of this alien on my lip (i refer to it as an alien invading my mouth) my alien is at least 1cm big and full of what i can only think of as collected saliva, i have burst it a few times only for it to re-grow within days.
Finally i am having my alien removed, this friday under a local anesthetic.
I hope all goes well as i am so squeemish, reading all your messages has given me comfort knowing that it wasnt that painful.
So....Se la vi....Alien and hope to never see you again! finally i'll be able to talk to people again with out being consious they are staring at this thing on my lip!

i finally had the alien removed from my lip! yipee!!!
the operation took no longer than 10 mins that included taking my blood pressure and the after operation chit chat...i was in and out of the hospital in 20 mins!!
the local anesthetic injections was the worst bit of pain i suffered...rest was ok.
now...4 days on im still in slight pain where the sticthes are....eating, drinking and chatting has become slightly un comfortable but nothing too un bearable.
i was wondering how long it will take for the full healing procedure?
please come back with any info you have!

Congratulations! Your quick procedure sounds alot like mine.
As for post-operation pain, I think I was in pretty good shape after about two weeks. The pain was pretty slight after that first week.

Im all healed up now, i have a slight lump of scar tissue where my Alien was, just as the doctor said! but its causing me no pain and its a fraction of the size of the mococele.
