Letting the Mucocele Be?

I went to the doctor today worried about that lump in my mouth (lower lip area) and he said it was a mucocele but that I didn't need to have anything done to it. If I still have it after 2 months and don't like it, he'll refer me to the mouth surgeon to have it taken out. Anyone here just letting their mucocele "be"?
Based on what I've heard from people, a small few people have been fine just letting their mucocele "be" and it actually went away. Others have had theirs for years. If your doctor says to wait it out, I might give it a shot, but if it gets annoying, I'd say get a second opinion.
I have had mine for well over a year now, my doctor also said there was no need to remove it unless it was really bothering me. However it is at the side of my mouth and quite huge and I tend to bite it more and more these days when eating and it then hurts for days. I think I am going to reconsider and look into removing it.
i would just get it removed - it's no big deal and better live with the discomfort for a week and then not worry about it ever again
I have not had the surgery on mine, and it seems to be going away. When I first got it, it went up and down for about six weeks, and then it started settling into a pattern where it swells up for a day or two, then goes away for a week or more. I'm up to 3+ weeks between flareups, and the last flare-up didn't even swell up all the way. So I'm comfortable leaving it alone for now. But if yours is a continuouous problem, I'd get it removed.
