6 Year Old with SEVERAL mucocels

That is a lot of mucoceles! Does she chew the inside of her mouth in her sleep? Please keep us updated!

We went to the dentist today and was told, "WOW!!! That is HUGE!" and then "WOW!! That is alot!!" The good news is that some of them have popped on their own since Monday. She is down to about 4. One is medium sized, and the other is HUGE!!!! It is so big that it is now interferring with her eating and drinking. The rest are just really small.

Here is the bad news.... Her dentist woudn't touch them because they are so big and so many. He sent me to an oral surgeon. I just found out I do not have any type of insurance coverage for oral surgeons.

So we are back to square one of going back to the ENT. Our appoitment is Tuesday, so wish us luck!!!!

My daughter is 5 years old. We went for our 6 month cleaning at the dentist and he informed us that she had a mucocele. He suggested that she have surgery. Is that common for such a young child? Some of the blogs have said that they pop after a few weeks. How likely is that? What will come out of there if it does pop on its own. Thanks for your input! nervous mommy
