drain yourself or have removed?

I was planning on going to the Dr on Monday because what I thought was a cancer sore I have now discovered is a Mucocele.... I am so relieved to know it isn't serious! YEA! My questons is this? Do I try to drain it myself (ambesol and a sterile needle) or do I have a Dr remove it? Thanks in advance for your help! I am so tired of bighting on this lump!
