Numbness? When will it go away

I just had my mucocele removed about 5 days ago. I don't have any pain anymore. However, I still have some numbness and swelling in my lips. I have to go for a follow up appt next week to get the stitches removed. I was just wondering if the swelling and numbness will go away.

The swelling will definitely go down, but as for the numbness, it may stick around. The swelling mostly went down for me within a week, but I'm now years from my surgery and I still have a small numb spot on my lip. There's not really any chance of the feeling coming back for me, but I know others have had feeling slowly come back within a couple of months, and many don't have any numbness at all.
