its been 6 days since my surgery. i had a very large mucocele which was removed, it was quite painful. i had to take vicodin for a few days because of the pain. a lot of swelling and bruising. well the pain has gone away and i feel like everything is healing.....EXCEPT if you actually look at my scar, its still open. it looks like a canyon between the scar tissue. i had several stitches and they dissolved just the other day (they were dissolvable). i realize it hasnt even been a week yet but i searched this entire forum and couldn't find anybody that said they had a hole showing after the surgery. i know what the hole is...its exactly where the mucocele was cut it out. and it doesn't hurt but when i eat sometimes food does get stuck and i have to rinse to get it out. it seems to me it should have healed over before the stitches dissolved. do you think it is going to heal over eventually or is something wrong here? i almost am afraid i am going to require more stitches.
i'm actually going to my oral surgeon for a check-up tomorrow but just curious if this has happned to anyone else. i'm a little concerned.
