The doctor who removed mine said that draining the thing makes it get bigger and bigger and if I had waited and kept doing that he might have had to remove much more of my tissue and cause worse lip scarring.
Is this true?
Does draining make it worse?
Does waiting to get it removed make it worse?
Because if so, my original doctor who told me it was a cold sore, and then said it was just a bruise and would go away on its own, told me to wait several months before calling them back about it. Then they sent me to the wrong specialists.

Does it get bigger if you drain it?

I think this varies among individual cases. Some people in this forum claim that they have lanced their
mucoceles and that they went away. Others claim that it didn't help. For me, I claim to have a
"superficial" mucocele - it is relatively small and is right on the surface. When I lance it sometimes it returns,
but sometimes it becomes dormant and disappears for a couple of months. I am willing to live with this and
so have not had surgery. Regardless, it's a good idea to have it looked at by a dentist or physician.

okay... U AREN'T SUPPOSED TO DRAIN IT. unless ur ENT or oral surgeon did, you could make it bigger than it is now. draining it before u get it removed can cause it to come back, maybe. That's what I'm thinking.
