I have my appt tomorrow at 1. Not too nervous, but I am a little concerned about bruising after. Does anyone have any experiences they could share about the after effects of surgery. I have client meeting on Tues (4 days later) and am worried I'll look like I've got in a bar fight over the weekend!!! I'm also interested in hearing what I should expect the first few days. BTW, I'm just doing the novocain. Not sure that really matters. My doc mentioned at my consult that b/c of the placement of the bump it is possible that when he administers the novocain it could actually cause a little nerve damage (not motor just sensation which seems pretty typical).
Thanks in advance.

Expect the swelling to get worse over the next couple days and then go down around the 4th day a lot more... you'll still look a bit "off" but not as bad as the second day or third... the key is to ice as much as possible for the first 24 hours, after that it'll do no good... also keep on the advil, it'll help with inflammation.
This all depends on the size of the incision, mucocele and of course how many stitches and amount of novacaine...

Good luck to you!

I had people asking me if I was in a fight for at least a week, but my stitches were very visible and when I had them removed, people weren't really noticing too much in casual situations. Any extended conversation I would notice people looking at it, but even that is not happening as much. People didn't really notice my mucocele either, though...
