I have had this for years and I must do something to get rid of it. It is a large cyst/zit looking thing that is adjacent to and part of my lower lip that will grow and get really big and ugly. I can bleed it down (which it just got really big again and I don't remember it hurting so much like it is now) and it will after days of bleeding go back down and "almost" disapper for a few weeks until it starts to get really big and ugly again. Is this a mucolele? Can it be on the outside? Does anybody know what this is?? When it is small, it is still there if you look for it but almost looks like a scar now. It looks like a small white scar but is thick and hard under it if you feel it. It grows into a hard lump and turns red (of course I try to make it bleed to get rid of it so I'm sure this doesn't help). I appreciate any input!!!
Thanks to all

Does Anybody Know What This Is????? I Have A Lump On The Outside

Hey missourikoi, you really should see a doctor about this. I am no doctor, but the way you describe it, it does not sound like a lip mucocele as they generally occur on the inside. Plus, they don't bleed. If you drain them, a translucent yellow mucous will come out, rarely any blood at all. Really, you should see a doctor and get the thing diagnosed.
Wasn't going to register, but I have what sounds like the same thing, so I thought I'd at least be a comrade in arms with you. Brief background to what I've lovingly started referring to as my "twin": I used some chapstick that went terribly wrong back in March. My lips exploded, got really swollen and then settled into really chapped. Following that, the weather decided to be unable to decide what it wanted to be, which further murdered my lips. I ended up with a small, reddish/purplish dot on my lower lip, yes, on the outside, slightly off-center and at that point, not too noticeable. But of course, I had to play with it and get rid of it and when I did, I basically cut my lip (which bled profusely). I figured that would just heal up and go away. Yeah, no. That started going away, but then I got what looked like a zit. This is when I started freaking out, trying to decide if it's possible to get a zit on the lip. It kept filling up with a clear/whitish fluid. But even after it went down, it kind of came back. In the past two weeks or so, it basically grew solid into this reddish ball thing that is literally protruding from my lip. The ball itself doesn't bleed, though it will ooze a clear fluid with a bit of blood mixed in for good measure. The only time the thing actually bleeds is when I pick at it (which I do often, I should just sit on my hands).
I have an appointment with a dermatologist next Thursday, so I'll find out for sure then. I was pretty sure that it is a mucocele, but I could be wrong. It doesn't seem to be anything else that I've found in really disgusting pictures on the Internet. It doesn't hurt at all. And it almost looks like it'll just fall off eventually.
My basic treatment until going to the doctor has been neosporin. If it's not a mucocele than it might just be an infection that keeps re-infecting itself? So, ever since it was in the looked like a zit phase, I've been dousing the area with neosporin every so often, to make sure the area's clean. The only concern is not swallowing it... Plus that'll also reduce the chance of scarring. It seems like it's helped. The area surrounding my clone looks normal and it seems like the bit of skin still holding it on is getting smaller.
I shall post back after the doctor's appointment though. Maybe I'll even attach disgusting photos.
