Today, I was just diagnosed with two mucoceles in the left side of my lower lip. I'm pretty sure there's another one lodged up in the upper right side, too. The good news is, he says that they are not big enough to warrant surgery. Still, they are annoying, and I'd like to do anything I can to get them to shrink down.
Does anyone know:
a) Can mucoceles naturally decrease in size to nothing?
b) Is there a topical cream or ointment available that decreases its size?
Also, is there any evidence that dipping tobbaco is a contributor?
Cheers,
Homebrew

Topical Creams

Hi Homebrew, I think I've heard some on this forum mention mucoceles disappearing, but from what I've heard, don't count on it. I certainly haven't heard of any topical creams that have been able to treat mucoceles either. I haven't heard of chewing contributing to mucoceles - just oral cancer - but I would think in theory that having a substance like that in your mouth could irritate salivary glands and lead to mucoceles.
