I just had my little mucocele surgery today and it wasn't bad at all. I now have a little incision site with three big, black stitches (why they chose black for a lip surgery, I couldn't tell you).
The problem is that, now that the swelling has gone down significantly, I can see the stitch job. Two of the stitches are perfect, but one of them has a tiny piece of inner skin (don't know how else to describe it) popping up slightly. The best way to describe it is that it looks like a little hernia.
Because it's the weekend, I can't get anyone at the doctor's office and I don't want to call the emergency number. I'm just wondering if any of you have had this situation and whether or not the skin just went ahead and healed around the baby hernia.
ETA: Where'd everyone go?? LOL! Here are some pictures to show the mess. My lip was hugely swollen in these. It's gone down a bit since then, but I'm still pretty swollen three days out and I have pretty horrible pain.

OH and an update: I saw the doctor this morning and he said this was "perfectly normal." Ummm...ok. What I thought was a baby hernia is, in fact, a flap of skin that isn't healing into the rest of the lip. I have a feeling I'm going to need additional surgery to have the flap removed. :(
