I went to my family doc and she put a needle in it and proceeded to squeeze out a cyst. She called it a mucocele then said it's like a cyst and that she got it all out. It went down a little in size, but looks like it's still there. Besides that fact it hurt like hell when she "removed" it, it's not gone yet.
She said to give it a week and then call back and let her know how it looks.

I have never heard of such a "procedure," if you want to call it that, being successful at completely solving a mucocele problem. My family practice doctor did not even mess with it at all. He said, oh, you have a mucocele and need to see a specialist for surgery.

Funny, I just saw this discussion, and yesterday I found out what this thing on my lip was with research, and decided to just drain it myself, I used percautions, and squeezed out a lot of stuff out. If that works, I will be thrilled. If it doesnt, which the chances look like it may not. With all the research, it seems like surgery is the answer. But it sure helped with the annoying feeling on my lower lip hanging there. I could feel it and it would be so distracting. I guess and hope this works. Good luck to all of you. I guess I just dont really want to think about surgery. some say time will make it go away, most say surgery. HMMMM!!!! who knows.
