I've had my mucocele for about a year now. It all started when I was told that I should get a discoloration on my lip removed and biopsied to be safe. So I did. Once my stitches were removed a mucocele formed. The same dermatologist who removed the discoloration removed the mucocele for me and it still came back after the second set of stitches were taken out! After researching for awhile and surfing these forums, I do no think he even attempted to remove my salivary gland, let alone the adjacent ones! Judging from kadavy's pictures, I don't remember him using any of those instruments. I think it was just a cut job.
Anyway, needless to say, I'm planning on going to someone else to get this removed asap. I currently go to UC Berkeley so I live up here most of the year, but I'll be heading home to Orange County for a couple of weeks. Does anyone who has gotten their mucocele SUCCESSFULLY removed and has not had it come back have any recommendations on which oral surgeon/dermatologist I should contact? If so, their contact info as well? Any and all help is greatly appreciated! Thank you for your time and help!
