Problems With Suture Holes

I got my mucocele removed 5 weeks ago, and went in for a follow up two weeks ago. I had two sutures/stitches. For the past 2-3 weeks though, there have been a white discharge, kind of like pus but the doctor said its not infected, from the holes where the sutures/stitches were, 2 of the four suture holes have healed, but the other two have not, and it has been 5 weeks. There are also two tiny, very tiny holes on top of the scar tissue where the white discharge comes out. Have any of you had this problem? The doc removed my sutures 2 weeks ago because they didn't dissolve correctly. It doesn't seem normal to me that it has not fully healed after so long, and the whole white discharge thing kind of freaks me out. I'm trying to schedule another appointment to see the doctor again sometime soon though before I leave for college, so hopefully that works out. I just wanted to know if anyone else on this forum had the same symptoms as me, and if so, did it heal? and what did you do about it? Thanks for your time. This is a great forum.

Hmmm...I've never heard of that. What kind of doc did your procedure? I know that it is common practice to removed all the 'satellite' glands as well as the offending one to prevent reoccurrance from the injury caused by the surgery itself. Perhaps (and I am no doctor!) this was not done and you have some very angry salivary glands trying to develop into mucoceles? Just a guess. I'd keep going back until they give you a straight answer and if they don't, go see another doc for a second opinion. Good luck to you and I hope that you feel better! :-)
