1.5 weeks after surgery: there seems to be a new one growing *gasp*

First and foremost I would like to say that this is a fantastic site and that it has helped me gain a very good amount of understanding about my (old) mucocele, which I’m very grateful for.

Now onto my new dilemma; it seems that about 1.5 after weeks of my initial (uh oh) mucocele removal surgery… I seem to see a new one starting to bud. So yea, pretty much in the same exact spot as the previous mucocele I can see a very small “bubble” starting to form.

The main reason why I believe this is a second (or reincarnation of the first) mucocele is that it seems to behave somewhat like my old one. Basically, I noticed this about a week after surgery, not as big as it is now (though it is still quite small), it seemed to have shrunk in size after a day but then lo and behold 3 days later it’s here again… and slightly bigger than before.

So as happy as I am to see it (end sarcasm) I’m wondering if any other mucocele post op surgery survivors seemed to notice the same kind of thing. I can still feel hard tissue or whatnot under my lip underneath this supposedly new mucocele. It may just be scar tissue as well, but I have no idea.

So to wrap things up, did any other post op survivors notice a mucocele type of bump in their mouth 1-2 weeks after surgery? And would people recommend I have it checked or just wait it out for it to (hopefully) go away on its own? (Like I did with my old mucocele, those were a fun 6 months)

I had the same concern when I had my mucocele removed. I went back to the surgeon about 3 weeks post op for him to take a look at it. He assured me that what I was seeing and feeling was simply the scar tissuse. Now three months later this scar tissue has gone away and the area where it was removed is completely smooth. I suggest going back to the Doc if you ae concerned.

Apparently serrapeptose taken in high doses will remove the cyst and scar tissue as well. I've just started on 9 a day! There are no side effects whatsoever. It is natural check it out on http://www.goodhealth.nu/uk/1792/

Ring the helpline and discuss it. I'll let you know if it helps me but I wouldn't waste any time.

First and foremost I was planning on responding with the fourth post in this topic a couple days after my first post. However lots of things got in the way, mostly video game related (curse you, you mild addiction!) and I kind of lost track of time… for the past 2-3 weeks O_o;

At either rate, I would like to thank you LH for your input and I did exactly as you suggested and dropped by my oral surgeons office with only a glimmer of hope. He told me it might be another mucocele OR that maybe something having to do with my teeth rubbing on the stitches prior and therefore having caused it to occur but blah blah it may go away in 2 weeks yada yada. And you know what… He was right! Yeah I know, I was all wtf its gone myself a couple of days later, which gets me to my other point…

I tried your suggestion “with hindsight” about trying out some serrapeptose for my budding little baby mucocele. And I’m not sure if it helped or not… but it may have just done the trick! However, the bottle that I purchased is labeled Serra Peptizyme (manufactured by Sisu, medicinal ingredient: Serratia peptidase). On the bottle it reads, “for the treatment of soft tissue inflammation or inflammation of the respiratory system”. And the thing that somewhat bothered me is that it’s only 30,000 activity units (15mg) and the bottle recommends up to 2 pills a day (wtf?). Now if memory serves, the other brands online (while I was frantically searching for 3 weeks ago) had pills with 60,000 or 90,000 units. And if they recommended up to 9 pills a day with 90,000 units per pill… then that’s around 13 times more (I may be off mathematically, last time I did multiplication AND division was ooooh say… 5th grade?) medication than what I had actually taken with my mine, which is what is recommended by this pretty blue bottle here. It’s only the bottle that’s blue, not the pills… so disappointing.

Now to sum up what looks like is becoming an essay of sorts, I’m going to wait and see if the serrapeptose you take helps with your lips and your scar tissue. Which by the way I’m very sorry to hear about, and my heart goes out to you, but I know for sure that modern medicine will some day find a grand way to help you! There’s no doubt about that, just look at everything that has been accomplished so far (man walking on the moon [supposedly], treatments for a vast amount of different ailments, cream cheese with chives); it just needs time for the proper method to pop out and reveal itself. And if anything, I know you have already though about it, but plastic surgery may be the key to getting back what you have lost. But if the serrapeptose manages to help you as well, even at the slightest (in removing scar tissue, which may also possibly remove a cyst on the lips or blockage in the lips caused from damaged tissue), I feel that it’s best if this information is spread to the Removal/Treatment forum section to help others as it may have helped me.

I still have a fair amount of hard scar tissue in my mouth, and I’m afraid to start rubbing it again (as was advised by others, never mentioned by my oral surgeon). I think that possibly the massaging may have been the cause of my second mucocele to come about, I don’t know, but I’m sure not going to try it again for a while at least. But we’ll see how things go. Sorry for using so many brackets, I just love them so much (!). I’m going to try to wrap up this post for the third time now…

And I have about another half a bottle of these pills left to gobble down. And I’m starting to run out of water.

Take care everyone!
Sincerely yours,
me.
