I got this black/ dark spot/ blister on my outer lower lip. I dont know why it formed. Started off about 1 millimeter diameter. It didnt really concern me too much, i asked the Doctor one time and he said it is harmless. A burst blood vessle or something but said it's nothing to worry about. 2 years later its now 2+ mm but has burst twice now while eating. And it keeps bleeding, it takes quite some time to stop. I thought when it burst it might be the end of it but the blister itself bridges and reformes the blister. To my lamen imagination its like an open blood vessle in my lip that doesnt clot and close, just the skin over the top which forms a blister. I have rarely noticed them on other people. Its now quite noticable so for just the reasons of appearance and inconvenience I'm wondering how I can rid of the darn thing since its now pritty anoying and inevitable to get worse.
It is apparently harmless so doctors dont give much time to these things, thats what I have found anyway. I have read a fair bit of the forum but havent found a matching topic yet.
Cheers in advance to any insight on this.
Danny.

Not strictly a mucocele then. A maxillofacial surgeon would be able to properly diagnose it and remove it. If you're in the UK you'll need a referral from the GP but if in the states you can see an oral surgeon or whatever they're called direct.
Thanks Ann.
I'm in Australia actually. I'll make an appointment with the GP just about this. I've only asked when I've been there for something else and there always so bussy getting through the queue of patients I didnt get much help. Now its easily noticable and I can feel it all the time, I'll find out what needs to be done. I hope its simple and not too expensive.
