...do i have one? oh dear...

well two and a half months ago...i bit down on my lip while eating, i didnt think much about it and thought it would heal over like usual. But after a few days a small bump formed inside my bottom lip. Now the color is the same (pink) except for small light pink almost translucent area on the top of the bump. this has gotten me worried for awhile.

but about a month ago i decided i wanted to pop it out of sheer frustration. so i poked at it, it hurt poking at it, bleeding here and there, until i stuck a needle into the small light pink area, which i didnt feel, and then this yellow slimy, sticky saliva like substance squeezed out! i thought i hit the jackpot so i decided to just with my own hands squeeze that bump and low and behold more of that disgusting stuff started coming out and the bump become much more small although still noticable.

well, ive done this about three/four times already througout the month because it keeps coming back. i usually pop it before i go to bed and the next day it starts forming again. before even knowing what mucocele is i started thinking maybe my saliva is going inside the little hole i poked and filling back up thats why it keeps coming back.

thank god i found this site though, but now im looking at the fact that i have to get surgery for this and currently even though i have insurance, im unemployed arghh!

so is this mucocele...ive heard some stories that they popped it themselves after awhile and it would go away, i hope that happens with me.

please tell me if it is likely mucocele, im going to wait and pop it again sometime and if it comes back im going to the doctors once and for all.
