Possible Natural Alternatives
Then I did a little research on just what function the saliva glands play and how one could possibly get rid of the blockage naturally. Saliva glands go crazy for spicey and have to work that much harder.
So I had an intensive Tabasco Sauce (Red) drops session over two weeks!, every night I dropped a few drops on it and then slept.
Added to this I STOPPED fixating on it, i.e poking with my tongue etc, it just irritated, instead I gently massaged it in the morning after the hot sauce.
Ths may sound mad but! ................................ITS NOW COMPLETELY GONE!!!!
SO
You can try other methods other than drugs or surgury! thats all I am saying.
Good luck Folks!
Hey! Great info, think I will try it. I am wondering why no one seems to find the cause of reoccurence and correct that. I mean, I may be totally off here, but if it is a damaged saliva gland, I would think with the medical miracles we have today, there oughta be a way to correct that instead of remove it. Can't it be cleared so it doesn't build another saliva pocket?
And I would like to know if people still deal with this for the rest of their lives on a regular basis. So, if it is removed once, and again, and again, is it a forever thing? After the saliva gland is gone, is it finally gone or can it still reoccur?
One more question, from what I am reading about, laser surgery seems better, but I really don't know enough about it, yet. Do you know how I can locate a surgeon that does the laser procedure? Would it be an oral surgeon or regular medical doctor?
Did yours ever come back or was the pepper completely effective?
If you have surgery and remove the gland, and it recurs...it isn't recurring in exactly the same place. Millions of minor glands and ducts, and unfortunately the surgery may have damaged another one, causing a new mucocele.
I have had two removed surgically over the years...one inside my lower lip and one in my throat by my tonsil. The lip one never recurred, and the throat one did recur...had to have it removed a second time.
I still do get itty bitty ones at different places from time to time. It seems like some people are just prone to getting them, along with duct stones and the like.
Depending on where it is, either an ENT doc (otolaryngologist) or an oral surgeon will do the work. The oral surgeon took mine out. A regular doc probably won't touch it...they just don't know what they're dealing with. An oral surgeon has the best knowledge of the anatomy of the oral cavity.
Thank you so much! Mine happened by biting, so I wouldn't think that there would be any thing to cause another one, unless damage ocurred in another way.
Can you tell me about laser procedures, or how I can find more out about that?
I put raw garlic on it last night, it burned it, left on too long. So I now have vitamin E oil on it which is a healer....I have just never had any cutting on my body, and don't go for the idea of having something cut out. Naturally there should be some way to keep the duct open/flowing. The body can heal itself if allowed......I would like to find out more.
I have an apt in a week, but it is getting white around it and seems to be tender....red around the base, now, too. I am not biting it, but it is so big and irritating, and my tongue "has" to feel it, which probably doesn't help it to stay small!
Thanks for your comments!
