I was just at my oral surgeon, and he mentioned it is totally an elective surgery, however he suggested getting rid of it as soon as possible to avoid any further trauma. Mine is quite large, so it has become an annoyance. It gets removed on Monday. By the way... I have had it for about 3 weeks now and I can't wait to get rid of it.
Yeah, I had a large mucocele removed and have now got a small one nearby where it was and have been given the choice of whether to leave it or have that one removed. I'm opting to leave it be at the moment as there is no guarantee that another one won't appear afterwards.
