My Doctor told me to gargle with salt water every night to help the incision to heal up faster. I've been reading posts on here with people saying they though that salt may have popped their stitches. Has anyone else been told by their Dr. to rinse with warm salt water?
My doctor told me to swish with warm salt water 5 times a day. I did and didn't have any adverse effects.
If the incision was stitched up correctly, there should be no issues. I rinsed a few times a day (I didn't on the first day as the swelling made it difficult to "swish") but have had no problems. Now that I am on my 5th day, I am not really rinsing as it is pretty much healing on its own now.
