I had one on my inner lower lip removed five years ago under local. I have a new one that is much deeper, towards the base of my gum. The oral surgeon says I have to have general anaesthetic because of its location. Much more bleeding is expected.
Has anyone ever had a general? I am really worried about it - don't like being out of control.

General Anaesthetic?

I've had a general anaesthetic for other things, last was for eye socket surgery. It's nothing. You go off very quickly and the next thing you know you're being woken up. The anaesthetics they use nowadays wear off quickly so you don't even feel sick or ill when you wake up. It's a doddle.
Get a second opinion! Find a Oral Surgeon who uses a laser. I had a very large one removed today and they had to do xrays to make sure they could avoid my nerves as it was also very deep. The laser makes the whole thing more precise and they can just use a local.
