Steroid Cream 4 The Cure???

Hi,

I've had quite the ordeal with my little (now gigantic) mucocele friend. He's camped out there for over 2 years now. I've tried just about everything. The salt mouth rinse, popping and draining, popping and draining and then putting various disenfectants, even the dreaded SURGERY! The stubborn thing always came back. It now seems to have occupied the duct or cell next to it, and gets super big when filled with the fluid to the point where it's extremely noticable to others and even affects my speech - which really sucks since I'm a singer ;(

Went back to show the doc who performed the surgery, and this time was prescribed "Oracort". However I did some research on the cream and found that it's meant for mouth ulcers, which are painful and different than mucoceles.

Supposed to try this for a week - we'll see, I'll let you all know.
If not, I'll go in for Laser, but if it this cream does the job, maybe I've come across a non-invasive and painless way of putting an end to these suckers!

Peace and Inspiration to All.

You could try serrapeptase. I've recently added this page to my website as I've had a recent success getting rid of a cyst in my neck! It was much bigger than a mucocele and how I'd wish I'd known about this before I had my surgery.

I take 12 a day and I built up slowly over about 2 months. It is from the silk enzyme and the theory is the enzyme lives off dead tissue in the body and will absorb cysts and scar tissue and excrete it as protein.

That's the theory anyway. It takes time and you will be looking at a couple of months to get a result. Call the Helpline on the Home Page. They are a wealth of information and get some advice. They say scar tissue will take much longer than cysts as it takes longer for the enzyme to penetrate the tissue but cysts are more accessible so they should go first.

You must take them away from food or the little b...rs will eat your dinner rather than the cyst (and who could blame them! lol) It will also take out the inflammation so I think it's definately worth a go. They are natural, non addictive and harmless. At worst you might just waste some money and be disappointed and at best it may just solve your problem. However, nothing is guaranteed but if you take them in the correct way, you stand a good chance of turning this thing round.

You can email me privately if you wish to talk to me some more. However I wish you luck and hope this helps. Anyone else who wants to email me privately - you're welcome

Best Wishes
With Hindsight

Thank you very much for passing that on.
Looks like a very viable option.

I will continue with what the doc ordered, and if yet again it wants to come back, I will definitely look into the Serrapeptase. I'm a bit weary about going in for surgery a 2nd time - it's become so huge that I imagine there would be a high chance for lip misalignment to result afterwards.

P.S. Only one day with the Oracort, and it's definitely gone down - we'll see if this continues (and lasts!!).

Serrapeptase looks like rubbish to me. Referral selling scam.

The cat came back.
Steroid cream seemed to lessen it at first, but it's back again with full force.

Worth a shot - maybe others will have luck who have smaller cysts. Mine's ginormous and disgusting. Just have to suck it up and go 'under the knife' again.

Here's a theory about the steroid cream. Steroids are good for inflammation. So any extra swelling will go while the mucocele itself will remain. A mucocele is a physical damage to the duct so cream is not really going to have any good effect.

Yayyy! Hi all.
Gone, gone, gone is my annoying little buddy! Finally. Steroid cream does not work. Went under the knife again with a good surgeon, I'm 4 months post-op, and have gorgeous kissable lips again ;) Slightest bit of numbness (still!) in one corner, but it's worth having the sucker gone.
