Instead of removing another one. He said we could do two things. One live with it..since it's on my soft palate it's really only a mild annoyance every few days.

the second option was slicing it off so that it will drain and not seal shut again.

He was trying to think of a way I could do it myself...but I'd rather not perform home oral surgery on myself LOL..He said I could try scraping it off with my finger nail.

I've decided to live with it and unless it changes doing nothing.

anybody else have their ENT specialist or oral surgeon mention "slicing" as an option?

If you simply cut it off, it will heal up and you'll be back where you started. It's also a good way of getting it infected. I'd rather leave it be than mess around with it.

Mine was on my soft palate also...oral surgeon gave me hell for picking at it. I have scraped other ones off with my fingernail, but all I get is pain and a recurrence.

If you can live with it and learn to ignore it...great. I had mine removed twice...so far so good after a year.
