sore lump under tongue near tip

Wondering what this is - it's a small painful lump under my tongue - exactly in the center - but if I pinch my tongue, I can feel it through the top - feel like pea-size. just started feeling it a few days ago. Can barely see it from the bottom - small white spot. I'm a 44 year old female who has never smoked and has a1 drink per day. Thanks for any input!
