I currently live abroad as an expat worked in Holland, so I am not sure what to do about seeking professional advice, nonetheless I am going to seek advice from somewhere.
I had this lump in the inner lining of my cheek that came and went a couple of months ago, it was only a few mms in size and I thought nothing of it when it went away. But now it is back in the same place. There is no pain, but it is black in colour.
I have been a heavy smoker in the past, but for the past few years I have looked after myself a bit better, and now I smoke a hash pipe regularly everyday. I also drink quite a lot. I eat very healthily, but for the past 6 months I have suffered a lot of stress from work, specifically due to sleep depravation because of where I live.
I also had an abcess in my tooth several years ago, which was treated, however I neglected to get my tooth capped afterwards. Could it be related to that?

Well, yesterday it sort of burst when i was eating. There is still a lump there, but it is now more a pinkish colour. It also hurts slightly today. Can anyone help me out with some advice, is probably just a harmless mucocele or could it be something more serious?
I'm just stuck out in a foreign country and not really sure who to approach about getting a diagnosis.

I don't know about serious, but different. If you know any of the locals, I'd get a referral to a dentist somewhere to take a look at it. Doesn't sound like a classic mucocele.
Thanks, so ... whilst mouth cancer is a possibililty that can't be completely ruled out, it is most likely something that is non life threatening? It's just the fact that this black spot keep appearing, it could be just that I am chewing and damaging the surface of my cheek.
I mean, I feel fine, a bit tired from work and late nights, but I don't feel ill. I'm eating well and I have colour in my cheeks.
I've started using a mouth wash to see if it clears up, I still haven't got round to registering with a doctor yet, although I know where to register now.
There is also a small spot that I can feel with my tongue has been there for a couple of weeks, about a cm away from the place where the black spot keeps appearing. Could that be the start of a mucocele?
