BIG lump after surgery

I had a mucocele removed Mon. by an oral surgeon--for the second time. First time--about 4 mo. ago-- went ok--it just came back or another one appeared ?. After I had been home for about an hour--with an ice pack--I felt a large lump coming up inside my jaw at the site of the surgery. It ended up being about the size of a golf ball. I immediately called the dr--he said to continue with ice and pressure and I should be ok. Now, four days later, the lump is down some but my jaw and down my neck outside is purple, yellow, green--looks like I've had a bad fall, and inside my mouth is purple. Apparently I've had a big blood clot. It's still very sore and uncomfortable. I called dr. again--he put me on an antibiotic --still saying I will be ok in a few day ? I go back in a week. I don't think this is normal-- Has anyone ever had this happen ????????
