evening primrose oil

I read on a few websites the the use of evening primrose oil worked to get rid of a mucocele. Has anyone tried this? If so, has it worked?
I did and saw absolutely no results after a week. I then tried the rinse treatment using table salt in warm water, which produced an immediate response.
