Bruised lip

Hi, four days ago, I had surgery on the inside of my bottom lip to remove a mucocele. Pretty soon after, half of my lip turned purple and became huge. The swelling's almost gone, and my lip feels a lot less numb now, but my lip is still bruised. Does anyone know how long the bruising typically lasts? It's... really purple. It just doesn't look any lighter, and I'm worried because I'll be going out of town for three weeks, so I won't be able to meet with my oral surgeon.
