Is it a mucocele?
Hi everyone
I have a question about an area on my lower inner lip....near the corner of where my lips meet. This is how I would describe it...tiny, kind of circular shaped (unless I stretch the lower lip out, then it kind of follows the lines of my lip) painless, elevated, white. It feels soft and spongy to the touch. It does not appear to be fluid-filled....so I am wondering if this could be a mucocele? I noticed it about 5 weeks ago...it does not appear to be changing shapes at all. Thank you to anybody who can help me with this question.
Doesn't really sound like one, in that it isn't fluid filled...but hard to tell without picture. Did it appear all of the sudden ??
Does the swelling go up and down? Mine never was fluid filled well that you could tell or see. Of course deep down it was filled with saliva but you never could see it and it never burst. The oral surgeon told me it was really deep and when the swelling went down it was because my body absorbed the saliva on its own and then a few days later it would go through the same process. Hopefully for you it's not a mucocele. I'd give it a little while and if it is still worrying you have it checked out just to make yourself feel better.
