Hi! I have a lump under my tongue, where the salivary glands are. It started around a week and a half ago and looked like most of the pictures on the forums, like the ranula. i didnt try to pop it or anything, just let it be, thinking it would go away. but it increased in size, and then i did try to pop it... but nothing happened (i didnt try too much because it didnt seem to do anything except make it a bit red). i will make a doctor appointment next week, but am wondering if anyone here is familiar with what it is and how it is treated? thanks for the help!

I forgot to add that it doesnt hurt at all.... and i meant to say it looked like the common mucocele before, not ranula (which was what i first found on the internet regarding bumps in the mouth...)

I'm guessing rannulas...which are nothing more than mucoceles under the tongue/on the floor of the mouth.  If possible, I'd recommend you see an oral surgeon rather than a general doctor...just because oral surgeons are much more experienced with those things.

ntrik, did you get this checked out? I'm interested to hear how it went. That's an amazing picture, by the way!
