I know I have a mucocele but does it hurt to remove it from an oral surgeon??
Okay I'm eleven and have a mucocele. I have an appointment tomorrow for the oral surgeon to take a look at it. I'M SO SCARED TO GET IT REMOVED. I heard they sydate you or whatever but I'm so scared. Can you people PLEASE ANSWER MY QUESTIONS?? Does it hurt afterwards? Can you feel it during the surgical removement? Does it heal on it's own? But it really sucks now because I have kankersores and I'm so freaking scared they're mucoceles and my mom says they're not, but she's not an oral surgeon and I don't want to go to the oral surgeon and say "Hey is this a mucocele????" Because that's kind of awkward. How do I go about this? PLEASE GIVE ME SOME ANSWERS!!!! I NEED YOUR HELP!!!! :( :( :(

heya...i had a mucocele on my lower lip. it doesn't hurt. i went to my doctor and he said he would take it out there and then. They usually inject an anesthetic to numb the lip. for me i couldn't feel a think cause the mucocele didn't hurt so when he injects the anesthetic it goes into that tissue of the mucocele. then he would take a scaple and make a slit in it and kinda how a pimple burst its like that. he would probably squeeze out the exudate from the mucocele. It is somewhat a mixture of blood and other fluids. and then he'll probably make 2 stitches and ur done....
u'll jus have to stay off the spicy food and stick to some cold foods like icecream. cause once the anesthesia wears off u'll feel a bit of pain otherwise it is ok
Look there isn't a guareente that it has gone away completely was wat my doc said. he said it could come back or not. its been 3 years since my last one and recently i have got another...so i'll be making another trip to the docs to take it out
