Hello.  And thank you to everyone who has posted here.  The information has been very helpful!

I've had a mucocele on my lower lip for several months and I'm trying to decide how to treat it.  I do not have health insurance, and I'm wondering how much it might cost to have it surgically (or laser) removed.  If anyone can provide that information, I would greatly appreciate it.  Thank you.  David

For me, it is the cost of one visit to your oral surgeon or ENT. i went to an ENT but i had insurance, i asked if i didn't have it and she said it would be 150$ or so.

Can I have laser surgery if my insurance is only Keystone 65?

i got mine removed and i have tri-care, (which is an insurance that gets discounts because one of my family members is in the reserves.) which was only 388, but for general anesthesia without health insurance is about 600 here where we live. and with health insurance, just not specificly tri-care, is like 316.

To: goofyjim .... I'm pretty sure. but i dont recommend laser surgery, because mucoceles most likely come back with that surgery. And that doesn't usually get all of the mucoceles.

A sincere "thank you" to all who have responded.  At least now I have a rough idea of what the cost might be.  David

My roommate is going to have his removed surgically on his next appointment.  I have my first consultation right after his with the same doctor.  If the steroid injection failed with his can I request to have the surgery right thenand there at my first appointment or do I have to wait for a second one?  I really want this thing removed and don't want to have to make extra visits.

I'm still nervous either way.  If he agrees to surgery and makes me wait a week I may have to delay unitl September or end up making an extra trip after my roommie is done his.  If he agrees to do it this Thursday I have to face the procedure then as well.  Although between the two options I'd rather get it over with sooner.  But how many doctors perform the surgery on the first visit right after consulting?

My cost: $350 for the procedure $60 for the consult.
