Still HAS NOT COME BACK!

Just an update to my original post (which I will paste to the bottom of this message): I never saw a doctor or did anything like puncturing/draining - nothing. It has now been 10 months with ABSOLUTELY ZERO mucocele activity. I had completely forgotten I ever had one until this morning, and I remembered when it was an every day problem. I suppose it's possible it could come back. But at this point, it seems to be completely gone. I will certainly update if this changes. Good luck to all. What follows is my original post:

Mine WENT AWAY BY ITSELF

February 2, 2009 by misterbee
I have read several posts wherein people claim there is no hope of a mucocele going away without surgery. Well, my mucocele is either on the longest "vacation" ever, or it's simply gone. I had a classic, definite mucocele for about 9 months, after a severe bite and re-bite. NEVER during this 9 months was there a day when it wasn't somewhere in the cycle; it was either full blown and annoying as heck, or on it's way down from bursting, but still annoying or fairly flat and drained and at least somewhat tolerable for a day or two until it filled up and the whole thing started all over again. Well about 5 months ago, it just completely flattened and never filled back up and it's been that long now with ZERO activity. It's just GONE. I keep thinking maybe I shouldn't get too happy about it, because what if it comes back. That's why I waited so long to post this. I didn't want to give bad information or false hope. Needless to say, if it does come back, I will report back. But for now, it seems to have simply vanished on its own. One thing I will mention for what it's worth: I DID rinse it a handful of times with Listerine in the few weeks before it stopped. I'm NOT saying that did anything, and honestly I wasn't all that consistent or diligent about it. It was just whenever I remembered to. Anyway, if you're not ready for surgery, just know that (rare though it may be), there is hope! Good luck to all (and to me, in case it comes back and I feel pretty goofy about writing all this) :-)

you are very lucky indeed.  I'm really hoping mine will go away on it's own too.  It's been fluctuating for about 2 months now though.. not very encouraging.
