Diagnosed with a "99%" sure, mucocele...

I had a bump in my mouh and i continually poked and bit it.  Eventually, I used a needle to poke a hole in it (not one of my better decisions.) and a clar-yellowish pus came out.  I, on accident, bit it open while eating and it bled profusely.  I went to the dentist today and he referred me to a maxillofacial surgeon fr removal, with a 99% sure diagnosis of Mucocele.  Last night, I realized a clear rubbery piece protruding from the hole and proceeded to pull out a clear rubbery substance.  Now the mucocele is smaller and hurts somewhat.  Is this for sure a mucocele?!
