I went to surgery today because the timing worked;if it hadnt I would have tried a home cure. I had one that went away (after 6 months) for 4 years. Home remedies I've seen today are sucking on a lemon, swishing hydrogen peroxide for 5 minutes, triamcinolone gel for your mouth, triamcinolone injections (I think to make the gland stop swelling), and stress making it react. I think I might buy that stress one. try to work that and another remedy. I wouldn't rush into surgery just yet. I'll let you know how mine ends up, later, but it only hurt on the initial novacaine injection slightly. The rest I couldn't feel. After surgery It was bothering me until after my first vicadin, and as of now (8 hours later) I dont want another vicadin.

I totally understand. I was going through the same about a month ago. It was my first one and this site helped alot! First off know that you notice it more than anyone else. I remember it bothering me cause I could feel it and knew it was there all the time, especially in social situations. I did try the ALUM home rememdy that is noted on this site. It just made me more frustarted cause it tasted horrible and didnt seem to do anything. However Ive read some stories that said you have to stay pretty consistent with it it for about 6weeks, which i didint. I had my mococele for about three months which seems to be around the time that people get fed up with it. I made the mistake of popping mine several times which honestly was just a quick relief. I would pop it sometimes If I knew i was going to be in a social environment so that it be at least be smaller for that night but it always filled right back up!!! Even bigger then before! I had it removed through my medical insurance cause the oral surgeon was trying to charge me like $600! Through my insurance I went to E.N.T. and it cost me my $40 copay!  The surgery was quick and easy really no pain at all you just feel some tugging on your lip. I would suggest before, you consult with your doctor about scarring and how it may affect how you will physically look after.( Ive heard some people saying after surgery it distorted their smile, however that hasnt been my experience) I had about a week of bruising and sensativity for about 2 weeks. The stitches came out on there own. But most of all HUGE relief just to have it gone. I bought a mouth wash specific for bacteria cleaning at target. Its been about a month after surgery and I can barley see where it was. This site also has a tendency to scare people that are already in a frustrating situation. Know that each experience is different and you have to make the rigth decisions for you. GOOD LUCK
