Post Op Questions..
Thanks for this amazing site. I am 44 years old, fit, healthy and never really had anything that worried me. A few months ago i got a blister like lump in my mouth and only thru you other website, identified it as a mucocele. I went to my dentist, who sent me to a specialist and from there, to an oral surgeon. I had tried the tobasco sauce, the listerine and everything else mentioned, nothing worked.
I have just returned home from having it removed but really, really worried!
My lip is not swollen, in fact, where it was removed seems tight and much, much smaller than the other side of my lip. I have many stitches, i think seven or eight. It is almost a white colour compared to my other side, and I thought it would have been puffy. I wondered if the stitches were put in to tight, as there is a little dent or sortof fold where the surgery was. I am really freaked out, and wonder if i should let it heal or go back in the am and find out if they screwed up.
Has anyone experienced this smaller, tighter looking side. I was prepared for swelling on the side it was taken out not this shrinkage. Maybe it's restriction from the freezing..
Please help..

It was taken off by a scalpel and cost me $500 Canadian dollars.
It's now two days later, I'm in terrible pain. I've read all thru the differenet stories and I'm so upset and nervous. I called the oral surgeon and he won't see me until tomorrow.
Can't tell if the incision is vertical or horizontal?? Some long stich stuff is sticking into my bottom gum area. The incision itself looks like it's pulled taunt and i think that is what is making my lip look deformed when i look in the mirror. Almost looks like someone is pinching it in half. It's kind of white and unnatural looking, but definetely has a bend in the lip. I'm praying as it heals it will lie flatter... (crossed fingers)
A large bump, which by the way almost looks exactly like the mucocele is now beside the incision area. Anhone have this? Small little white bump on it, but actually larger than the mucocele itself.
I've been taking Tylenol extra strength every four hours and just yesterday started taking some naproxen i found in the cabinet. Puts me out a bit, but the pain is bearable now. I am still very, very numb, and that is a concern.
I have a stinging sensation in my mouth which could be good, but i'm not sure.
I guess my question is what is this darn lump that formed in the same spot. Maybe it's inside stitches? .. not sure, but i'll do a follow up on the site after i meet with the surgeon again.
Just a follow up from my other posts, and really hoping if anyone can recommend any procedures, I would be happy to get that info. It is now nine days post op. The stitches came out five days after surgery. I had no infections or complications with the incision site.
The maxofacial surgeon did a horizontal incision and removed several little bothersome glands as he called them. There was quite a bit of tissue taken, and I can tell you that each day as the swelling goes down, I'm left with a worse scar.
As the swelling decreases, my lip is folding. It's almost like he overlapped my lip skin while stitching.
If you are contemplating surgery, ask QUESTIONS... i did not. I just thought it was SIMPLE.
This is your FACE.... for me, it is very close to the horizon of my lip, and i no longer have a seal, and can only feel numbness.
My husband looked at me this morning and finally agreed that yes, i do have a snarl. It was terrible to hear that he would take me to a plastic surgeon to see if we could get it fixed.
If i could do it all over, i likely would have left it.. to see if it would have cleared on it's own.
