And I use the word "freaks" affectionately...believe me I know how scary and aggravating mouth lumps can be.

I personally don't put much stock in topical solutions to mucoceles, since the root of the problem is the salivary glands beneath the skin, but for those of you trying them, I wish you success.  Hopefully you can prove me wrong :)

hello fellow lumpie!  I have had many mucoceles like you.  Even one on the hard palate roof of my mouth.  I had surgery twice on my bottom lip but I don't want to resort to surgery anymore.  I'm scared of disfigurement!  Anyway, for about 6 months now I've been pretty successful (knock on wood) with evening primrose oil.  I know many people are skeptical of it working, but so far it's been working for me. I figured I give it a few months before I come back here to post.  I first tried it on a small one that i had on my lower lip.  I bought the EPO pills and would soak the oil on a piece of paper towel and then put it over the mucocele like a compress. I did this about twice a day for a few days.  It went away and hasn't came back yet. A few weeks ago, I noticed one growing on the roof of my mouth.  I had no idea you could get one there.  Here we go again...  Anyway I tried my EPO compress and it's gone for now.  It's worth a shot for anyone who is wary of surgery. It's strange how these things just pop up out of nowhere.  I don't ever remeber hitting/biting my mouth.  Try the EPO next time... 2 or 3x a day compress.

You know what.. I'm going to try it. I've been waiting three and a half weeks for my biopsy results. I'm told it's normal to wait that long.. please! It's a terrible wait. I went into the surgeons office and he said the other two on each side of the incision look like mucocele's and that he likely compromised them during my surgery. WHAT?

Now my choice is surgery and further scarring and disfiguement, or trying anything. I'll try the EOP oil and let you know.

Thanks for sharing!

I wonder if I have saiilendentis .  I have this small bump on the roof of my mouth that gets inflamed and then it like drains and is gone and it comes right back.  I went to the oral surgeon and it had disappeared.  Now it has come bad and it has come and gone several times!!  So annoying!
I have an appt with the oral surgeon in Dec.  I had never had any problems with my mouth and this is driving me batty!!!!
Any thoughts?  I found this post while googling my condition.
