can someone help me with this one

I got this thing about 3 weeks ago, and so i researched about it. And so I came up with mucocele as a result. I found out that it goes well after how many days so i waited. Then nothing is happening, it just get worse. Awhile ago I was eating lunch when I accidentally bit my mucocele, Now it looks like this. I dunno what's the red thing, but what I know is it's uncomfortable and it makes eating hard to do.. T.T

So my questions are:
What exactly is happening to the mucocele? Do I need to worry?
Do I need surgery?

I watched a surgery procedure video in youtube.. It's scary.. T^T
