Lump in mouth and on lower right lip with surrounding blue veins!
The lump is slightly noticeable both inside the mouth and on my face around the lip area, although more from the inside. I can feel it by running my finger just below my lip on my face. My lip line on my lower lip on the entire right half is lined with really distinct blue veins, and whenever i touch it and feel around or stretch my lip it hurts! i have no idea what it is.. the lump isnt blue so i'm thinking it's not a mucocele.. please help! thank you.
what color is it? I have one that looks white or soemtimes flesh colored. I am freaking out too!
it's skin coloured on the inside and skin coloured and a little white on the outside right where the bump is! i'm going to the doctor in 2 days- would go today or tomorrow but it's the weekend now and tomorrow is a public holiday. i went to see a pharmacist in the meantime and he said he has never seen anything like it and i should def go to the doctor. my work colleagues also said i should def go to a doctor. are you going to get yours checked out? i'll let you know what my doctor says k!
yours sounds just like mine! I already went to the dentist last week when I discovered it - he thought it was probably a "virus" but I don't know what that means. He said he did not think it was cancer but wanted to check it again in 2 weeks. I have my follow up for that on Wednesday. So since I discovered it, it is very slowly gotten flatter and smaller. I don't know if it's going away or what! I asked my dentist what happens if it's not gone by the time he sees me again and he said he would then refer me to an oral surgeon. I have checked around online and several possibilities seem to fit this description: Leukoplakia, polyp, fibroma, or maybe a blockage of the glands in that area of my mouth. Oddly enough, this little bump and one smaller one below it is perfectly in line with my eye tooth and also where I had a habit of biting my lip and sucking my lip in between my teeth (nervous habit). Also, about 8 weeks ago, I had Juviderm filler injected into my lips to plump them out. I wonder if it could be either the Juviderm that caused it, or just the irriation of the needles? Nonetheless, I get freaked out when I look up the symptoms of oral cancer and it mentions white bumps as being a symptom. But I think with oral cancer, the bump either gets bigger or changes, and so far that has not happened in my case - my dentist took a picture of it when I was there, I assume so he can see if any changes have occured. I am thinking by the time I see him on Wednesday, it will be smaller (wish it would be gone altogether but I'm not sure it will be) than when I first went. Either way, if it's still there I am going to insist on seeing the oral surgeon! I definitely want it looked at even if the dentist thinks it's nothing. I actually asked if I could just go right to the oral surgeon and he said no, let's wait the 2 weeks and see how it is then - he said he thinks my immune system was just dowsn and this "virus" came out in my mouth. It's true that I had been stressed and not sleeping well, and now my kids and I are sick with a cold.
I think the good thing is that you and I both are having this checked out right away. I think it's only a problem when people let these things go and it turns into something bad. In some cases, I think the oral surgeons remove these things just to be sure they don't turn cancerous later on. I think the odds of it being cancer are very remote but I am still having trouble sleeping because of this and won't be able to rest easy until I find out what it is.
how did that turn out i just found similar veins on my lower lip near the gums i can also see small pimple looking bumps
