Lump under tongue?
About 4 weeks ago I noticed a small lump just to the right under my tongue. Its painless and grew quiet large and was a dark colour when it was large, and felt squigy. After a few days it went small and smaller, almost gone, but then litrally a day later it grew back large again, then again went smaller and smaller. Never once was it painfull though. I went to see the doctor about it last week and she said it was some some of wart growth and was best to have it taken out by a mouth surgoen. So she has wrote me a referal letter to see a mouth surgeon. Now since my visit last week to my doctor the lump has got smaller and smaller, its still there but its allmost gone and gets smaller by the day. Ive not yet seen the mouth surgeon. Is it really nesscsary to get it taken out, and, im thinking it looks way too small at the moment to be taken out. Im also unsure of what this lump actually is. I noticed it got larger and larger when I flicked it with my tongue, but ive stopped doing this. Can people help with what I have please?
I sort of have the same situation - not sure what to make of it. Mine is on the inside of my lower lip and was never really big to start out with - maybe half the size of a pea. It was/is white or sometimes flesh colored. My dentist wanted to check it again in 2 weeks so I am going back on Wednesday. But each day it looks slightly smaller. I have been taking pictures and comparing every day. The first one I posted here and the one I took today defintiely make it look smaller. But I am still very concerned about what it could be. The whiteness is still there, it's just looking smaller. I too wonder what happens if it goes away on its down. Does that mean it's nothing serious and needs no further action? I almost wish mine would not go away because I want it biopsied. But my friend is a doctor and she said she would advise waiting to see if it went away and she thought it would - I am just unclear as to whether that means it can still be something bad if it gets smaller and/or goes away.
