Mexican Home Remedy, Worked perfectly for me
I have no idea where my mucocele came from. One day i just had a large liquid filled lump in my mouth and was freaking out. after some online research i decided it was definitely a mucocele upon finding this site. I began the salt water treatment and Listerine treatments only to find it grow in size. I figured it was prime to pop so i decided to call my Mexican grandmother to see if she knew what to do. As soon as i described the liquid filled bump she knew exactly what to do.
First step was collecting the ingredients. I had to find a tomitillo, which is like a small green tomato wrapped in its leaves. it should be at most local markets. you will also need about 3 rose pedals and sugar.cotton balls are also needed. I know it sounds weird but i just followed my grandmas exact instructions and its pretty much gone now.
Once all the ingredients are aquired put them in a pot with just enough water to cover the tomitillo and start to boil them. you only need about a tablespoon of sugar. once the pot starts to boil and the tomitillo turns a brown color,the really fun part begins.
Once the tomitillo is soft and brown, take it out and cut it in half. the tomitillo must be semi soft inside and still warm/hot for this to work. pour the water into a cup and take it with you wherever you decide to do this procedure at as it might make a mess. over a sink in the restroom is where i would suggest so you can watch what you do in the mirror.
Once you have everything you need, you take a cotton ball and kind of scoop the insides of the tomitillo onto it. once you have that, which is pretty tricky, its time to begin. pull out your lip and scrub the lump to death. it will hurt but at some point the mucocele will pop and you will see the pus coming out. its ok to use more of the tomittilo if it falls off. as long as the juice and some of the insides are on the cotton ball you should be fine. don't stop rubbing until all the pus comes out and there is only blood coming out. there will be a fair amount of blood so be warned. once there is only blood coming out and no pus than you are good.
That was the hard part but now its over. use the water that you boiled the tomitillo in to rinse your mouth which will stop the bleeding and "kill the infection" according to my grandma. i used all of it for good measure. be careful to make it the water cool enough for your mouth but still hot. It has to be hot for it to work but not too hot. I burnt my tongue which was unpleasant and unnecessary.There will still be a lump and it might be the same size as before but rest assured it will start to go down over the next couple of days. I myself was skeptical until the second day when it was almost down to nothing.
It wasnt the most pleasant experience ive ever had but i did it3 days ago and every day since it was became smaller and smaller and it is just about gone now. Just made sure to continue the mouthwash treatment to not let any bacteria infect it again. I hope this helps.
