Dent where they stitched it up?
I just had two mucoceles removed. The top one was very close to the surface of my inner lip, and where it was removed and stitched up, there's been left sort of a dent that is very visible from the outside. My surgeon said it wouldn't stay that way, but I could use some reassurance. Is that normal? Will it remedy itself?
Any educated input would be very much appreciated.
OK, well, I was really sweating it there for a couple days, but, for the next person freaking out about this post-surgery: The dent is closing rapidly, and no longer visible unless I open my mouth. What a relief. It did not look to me like something that would heal and leave me with normal-looking lips, but, happily, I was mistaken.
Wow, I'm really sorry to hear that. The day after surgery, my dent was huge; I had Two-Face lips. Now, five days later, it's all but vanished. My lips have healed very rapidly, and look completely normal unless I peel down the lower one, and even then, I have to point out the now quite tiny indentation. I don't know why it would be that mine would heal and yours wouldn't, that a bad dent can vanish in a matter of days for one person and persist for months in another, but that's very unfair. I guess one can't really know what to expect from this surgery.
