Recent mucocele, hope I can get rid of it!

I've had it for no more than 4 days.
Yesterday it was large enough for me to look into it and I'm pretty sure that it's a mucocele.
Even though I know it's not good to pop it, I did this morning wanting to put my mind at ease in case it's not a mucocele. Before it was popped, it looked a lot like the tissue around it, but slightly lighter colored and raised. It was mostly blood that came out of it, and the size of it didn't decrease that much if any, but it was painful. Knowing that a warm salt-water rinse is good for cut in the mouth I did this.
The next time that I looked at it a couple of hours later, it had reformed and this time it was very white.
Then tonight, I looked up "mucocele salt water" and found some posts claiming that it helped it. I am now rinsing with warm salt water (1 teaspoon to one cup water) and will once more before I go to bed, and as many times as I can until it goes away.
I also found a post claiming that the toothpaste ingredient sodium lauryl sulfate that's used for tartar control can have a hand in causing mucoceles. The toothpaste that I've been using has this in it, but luckily I have another around the house that doesn't!
Hopefully this will help others in the future and I will update as to what happens.

EDIT: I should also add that the night before I discovered it, I was having a nightmare that my teeth were broken. I could have bit my lip in this place while that was occurring. Even though this is very different from what usually happens when I bite my lip.
