Hello my friends

It is about 20 days that I noticed there is a painless lump or tumor on the right side of my lower lip. today I went to doctor and he said that it is not very important and it will disappear by itself.
but still I am worry about it. It is inside my lip (not on the surface) and it is hard and painless. can anyone recommend me what to do?? How I can believe it would go away by itself??

hello my dear obsessive friend ! It seems that you have a medicine studetn syndrome ! The lump is totally harmless (I bet) and we call it a Mucocele in medical practice. It occures when the outgoing duct of a mucos producing gland is obscured by any means. My recommendation is just give it time and it will disappear sooner or later. If it won't , I'll be there to pay you a 1000 dollar bill !

Hey! I had the same exact lump on my lip for several months.. it was extremely embarressing and I thought about it consistently when interacting with others. Finally, I went to the dentist and they referred me to an oral surgeon. It was indeed a mucocele and my surgeon said it wasn't going to be going anywhere anytime soon. So it would have to be removed. It was a pain-free procedure. They numbed my lip and talked to me the whole time while removing it and stitched it up. I feel so much better and confident with interacting again. It cost a good penny... but it was worth it. It only took a week or so to recover and now there is a little line there that looks like a lil line in the lip (normal).

I have had a lump like this for about 5 years. I remember biting my lip when it first happened and it never went away. Is surgery my only remedy??

Hi guys !

I remove it after 6 weeks, Dr said it won't go away by itself in most of the cases, so I decided to remove it by surgery, it was a painless procedure but you should be careful with your eating after removal,

My Mom has a lump similar to this on the left corner of her bottom lip. It kind of looks like a fat lip. She was diagnosed with Bell's Palsey on the left side of her face in May, and she got Pnemonia in her left lung two weeks ago, and now that the Pnemonia is going away, she started getting this lump. Everything happens on her left side. I'm so scared for my Mom. She says it is only painful when pressure is put on it. Everyone that I have been reading about that has this says it is not painful. Could it be something else?
