Ummmm... is this normal?

I had a mucocele for about 3 months and just when I thought I was about to go completely insane I accidentally bit it and it popped. All this gross mucus stuff came out and the huge lump was finally gone. A few days later the little blister like bump that was left on my lip got hard and turned white. Is this part of the healing process? Has anyone else ever experienced this?
