what will happen if Mucocele stoll in mouth after a couple of years?

I had wat i think is Mucocele for over two years now...i wonder if eventually i do have surgery,will there be certain complications.My father kept delaying treatment bcuz he was bz ane our family isnt very rich..and im scared cuz i am still very YOUNG..
