swelling/numbness - a month after surgery

I had a very large mucocele removed from my bottom lip about a month ago. The wound is still healing. But my lip is still very swollen. The swelling goes down a little during the day. But when I wake up, it's back up again. The swelling is more painful than the pain from the surgery. I've had two follow-up appointments with the surgeon who performed the surgery. What he suggested hasn't helped at all. I keep a warm compress on my mouth on and off during the day and I sleep sitting up. I've had no relief.

Is there anything else I can do?

maybe your surgeon is not really that professional. You did get red of the mucocele but as a repalcement you got a swollen lip.
