My mucocele removal
I realized my mucocele this year in march on the inside of my bottom lip. I just had it removed about 2 days ago. Although nobody ever seems to have noticed it in my lip, it has been bugging me for the longest time since it swells up and down sometimes. Recently I also started my invisalign so the bottom ones have been irritating the mucocele too so it became worse than it was before. When I was told about the surgery I didn't think it was any big deal but when I got to the surgical center it was like a big surgery. They made me change into those robe like things with nothing under, had IV fluids, and pushed me into the surgery room with the bed. I felt like I was getting some kind of big surgery done on me. So I laid on the surgery table while they connected all types of things to me, then they said they're going to inject me with local anesthesia. I remember staring at the lights on the ceiling and counting to 10 before I knocked out. When I woke up I was already in the recovery room. Supposedly the surgery took around 30-40 minutes and I had been knocked out for about an hour. After the surgery my lips were very numb so I couldn't feel a thing but my lips were so swollen I look like I had sausages for lips. The injection area of the anesthesia was pale white and looked like a ball in my lip. They said I wouldn't be able to eat anything since my lips were going to hurt but I just threw food to the back of my mouth to chew so it wouldn't touch the front. Maybe the positioning of my mucocele makes it not as painful since I don't see a problem with smiling and talking like other people do. The second day, my lips were just a little less swollen but swollen nonetheless. This time it just looks like a lip injection gone wrong with lopsided lips. There is some pain but nothing unbearable. Still a little numb at the surgery spot.
Today, my lips are a little less swollen than yesterday. The numbness is still there but a little less than yesterday and no pain at all.
