mucocele?

i've been browsing the pictures online, and it seems like people with mucoceles have a very visible portrusion. the lump in my mouth is not visible, but i can definitely feel it there. it's not painful unless i try to like bite at it, and i had a canker sore about a week ago that's about finished healing which is a good sign. i'm almost sure it's not cancer, and i plan on scheduling an appointment with my dentist tommorow to see what it is, but does anyone have an inkling of what it may be?
