Thank you all-had surgery last Friday....
Good Morning-
I have not posted here yet but did read ALOT of posts in the past months. I had a what they believ was a mucocele on the inside of my lower lip for probably 2 years. It never hurt or anything-but I had become very self consious of it and finally decided to have it removed. (biopsy results will be in later this week)
I went to an oral surgeon for a consultation - and first he gave me some nasty gel to use on it 4-5 times a day-and said it may or may not shrink it....well-needless to say-I did not use it 4-5 times a day-so it certainly did not work! He surgically removed it last Friday-my dental isurance did cover the most of it-and I opted for complete sedation as I did not want to be awake and feel the tugging, pulling etc!!
The 1st day was a little rough-it was very swollen and once the numbness went away it was a bit painful-not too bad-I slept most of that day.
It's now day 5 - and there is a teeny bit of swelling still-but only noticable to me. I think the stitches are pretty much disolved now.
I was a bit concerned after reading alot of reviews where people had disfigured and numb lips months after the procedure...and must admit-the 1st few days I worried that my lip might be disfigured (with a "dent" in it!) however that is all gone now.
If you are thinking of doing it-just be sure to find a good reputable oral surgeon-and DO IT!
I am so happy that I did!
